The newly upgraded Sea to Sky Highway was designed to accommodate traffic for the 2010 Winter Olympics, and now it's waiting for you. You won't believe your eyes as you travel this spectacular route in one of three distance options.

The Forte - 152km

It's the RBC GranFondo Whistler with a small detour up to the summit of Cypress (an additional 30 KM and almost 800 meters). This new category will have 500 hearty climbers leave the start line in Vancouver at 6:00am. An earlier start time for the Forte (152km) predicts that the Forte lead riders will join the lead GranFondo riders at the base of Cypress Mountain. Please note, Forte riders must be able to maintain an average speed of 20 k/hour.

The GranFondo Start - 122km

Once over the bridge, cyclists will travel up Taylor Way to get onto the upper levels of Trans-Canada Highway with a right of way at all intersections. The journey then begins. Alta Classe have their own lounge at the start with water, coffee, late bag check service and reserved bike parking.

You may be surprised to realize you'll also enjoy 1,000 metres of descent as you roll through the Coast Mountain Range for a net gain of 700 metres of elevation to arrive at the finish line in the heart of Whistler Village.

The Finish

All riders will finish along Blackcomb Way in Whistler and be guided into the rider only finish area in Lot 4 in the Whistler Parking area. Your personal luggage from the start will be available for pick up plus a complimentary bike check. Riders are then encouraged to join in the festivities at Celebration Plaza.
